Register marriage
  1. A single status certificate (not older than three months) for both partners. Thai nationals can obtain a single status certificate from District Offices in Thailand. Australian nationals can obtain a single status certificate from state Registries of Births Deaths and Marriages (both the original in English and a translation of that original into Thai). Nationals of all other countries should contact their consulate or embassy for information on how to obtain a single status certificate (if the document is in a language other than English, please translate to both English and Thai).
  2. An original divorce certificate for either or both partners (if divorced)
  3. An original and a copy of Thai national ID cards for both partners
  4. An original and a copy of Thai passport for both partners
  5. A copy of Thai house registration for both partners
  6. Copies of the Thai national ID cards and passports of two witnesses
  7. If a woman’s husband has died or her marriage has terminated, the new marriage can only take place after a period of 310 days from the date of such death or termination of marriage, but before such period if (a) a child has been born during such period; (b) the divorced couple remarry; (c) there is a certificate issued by a qualified doctor who is a lawful physical practitioner in medicine showing that the woman is not pregnant; and (d) there is an order of the Court allowing the woman to marry.

* For non-Thai nationals, copies of passport and drivers license are required.

** Scans of all required documents must be sent to thairegistration@thaiconsulatesydney.org at least three days before the reservation date, otherwise the appointment may be cancelled.

*** The two witnesses must also be present to sign before a consulate officer with their Thai national ID card or passport together with a copy.

Register divorce
  1. The original marriage certificate for both partners
  2. An original and a copy of Thai national ID card for both partners
  3. An original and a copy of the passport for both partners
  4. A copy of Thai house registration for both partners
  5. Copies of the Thai national ID cards and passports of two witnesses
